 Services for you:

My Identity was stolen, what do I do now!!!!    Many people throughout Montana are victims of identity theft.  It can be as simple as someone stealing checks or a check book from your home or as complex as a computer hacker stealing data from an online computer or from a bank or broker.  So how do I know if I’ve been a victim, and what do I do when I know it for sure?  This session will discuss the many ways people are victims of ID Theft, how to find out and what to do when you find out. Please mark your calendar and plan to come Wednesday, April 9 starting at 10:00 a.m. Information presented by Al Ward, AARP State Information Specialist.

Bozeman Deaconess Hospice Care: Kammi Smith and Nona Chambers will provide information on Bozeman Deaconess Hospice and Palliative Care on April 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the Senior Center. They will discuss how to access the Medicare hospice benefit.  They will describe how patients are referred to the Palliative Care Program and what services are provided for patients who are on that service while in the hospital.

Grip Strength Testing: Do you know it takes approximately 10 lbs. to open a jar? How much can you grip? Join us at the Senior Center on Tuesday, April 15th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to find out your grip and pinch strength. The booth is hosted by Wel Home and Mountain View Center in celebration of Occupational Therapy Month.

Forgetters: Will be meeting April 9th at 1:00 p.m. in the basement meeting room. This group is for anyone wanting more information on memory loss.

55 Alive Driver Refresher:  The course will be offered April 17 and 18. The cost is $10.00, payable to AARP. Class meets from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. both days. Call 586-2421 to register.

Exercise:   In addition to the variety of exercise classes, Tai Chi for Arthritis is now offered. Pat Holm is the certified instructor. It is easy to learn, takes little time, is healthful. Based on an ancient Chinese defense art, it is a meditation in motion that with a warm up lubricates joints, warms muscles, and maintains your range of motion. It is moderately aerobic, equivalent to a 20 minute walk, even though warm ups take 5-10 minute and the form is about 2 minute.

Verified by medical studies; Tai Chi inspires concentration, balance, awareness, coordination, flexibility, strength and circulation. Call the center at 586-2421or check at the front desk for more information.
