For several years, outstanding seniors were honored at the Annual Governor's Conference on Aging. These include: Dr Anna Pearl Sherrick, 1984; Louis Moos, 1985; Harold Dusenberry, 1987; John Bower, 1991; Grace Melton, 1993; Dorothy and Torlief Aasheim, 1999; Marshall Gray, 2000; Willard Harper, 2002; and Marie Gambill, 2003. Centenarians: In 2004, the State unit on Aging adopted a new program, recognizing our oldest senior citizens. At the Governor's Conference on Aging, Centenarians from around the State of Montana have been honored. Gallatin County has had three Centenarians honored: Sue Roughton in 2004 and Florence Carter in 2005, and Gladys Olsen in 2007, all of the ladies were over 100 years of age when they were honored. Volunteers to help with the various activities and special events are warmly welcomed.
