| The Bozeman Senior Center, located at 807 North Tracy, Bozeman, Montana is a beautiful community center offering something of interest to all. We are very proud to have a membership of over 1,800 seniors over the age of 50. Our mission is to provide a wide array of social, educational, heath care and nutritional services designed for the older adult. Our Center was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1969. Our nine member Board of Directors are elected by the membership to serve three year terms.
Our Senior Center building was built in 1979 through a city bond issue. Since that time, the building has been enlarged and remodeled several times, to accommodate the growing needs of seniors in our community. Our Center is funded, in part, through city and county funds. The greatest source of funding for the Center is through fund-raising projects, grants, memorials, charitable gifts, and the Senior Center Endowment Fund, established in 1998. A very wide array of programs and services attract seniors in the Bozeman area, throughout the Gallatin Valley and surrounding counties, as well. Some of these include: congregate meals served in a dining space for up to 300 people, Meals-on-Wheels available seven days a week, over 20 separate exercise and fitness classes offered each week in a beautiful exercise facility in the basement of the Senior Center, with qualified, paid instructors, a Carpenter’s Shop, a Second Hand Thrift Store, run entirely by volunteers, a recreation room, a library where used books are sold at very low prices, a computer leaning center, with one-on-one instruction, a wellness clinic, and an intergenerational child learning center. Our Center is very successful, in large part to over 300 wonderful volunteers who help to make each program and activity run so smoothly. Some of the fundraising events include: our annual Fall Festival, refreshments at the Interstate Rest Stop, our Second Hand Store, and special events. Bozeman Senior Center staff is small, but a very dedicated, friendly, hard working group who are here to meet your needs and answer your questions. We invite you to come in and become involved in all our Center has to offer. If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 586-2421 or email us at judy_srctr@bresnan.net. Judy Morrill |
