The Bozeman Senior Center contains a wonderful new exercise room complete with rubber floor and various pieces of exercise equipment.  A variety of exercise classes are scheduled every weekday to match the endurance and fitness levels of the membership.  Highly qualified leader/instructors plan and conduct these sessions.

Aerobics Plus - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.  Designed for seniors, these classes provide opportunity to achieve appropriate levels of strenuous activity to strengthen and maintain cardiovascular systems.  Strength training and mind and balance exercises are also included. Aerobic activity is at a faster pace than seated.

Weight Plus - Monday and Wednesday at 11:30 am.  Extra time and focus on selected muscle groups, usually an extension of what was done the previous hour.

Combo Aerobics - Tuesday at 9:00 am. The same as Aerobics Plus above but slower paced.

Neuromuscular Interactive Action or NIA  - Wednesday at 9:00 am. Gentle stretching, breathing, and full movement - aerobic and strengthening.  An expressive body-mind movement and lifestyle practice that embraces fitness and health.

Tai Chi - Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 am.  A slow paced class based on yang long form.  It combines and improves balance, strength, breath, and mind and body.

"Forever Fit" Sit and Strengthen - Monday and Friday at 9:00 am.  The Sit and Strengthen class is designed for individuals who cannot become involved in heavily aerobic exercise either because of cardiovascular problems or who need to develop their endurance before undertaking strenuous aerobic exercises.  Strength training and mind and balance exercises which may be done seated or standing are also included.

Silver Sneakers - Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 pm. Muscular strength and rang of movement.  Sponsered by the Humana Insurance Company.  You do not have to have Humana insurance to participate.

2009 Pedometer Walk The 2009 pedometer walk will begin January 12, 2009 with a kick off lunch at the Bozeman Senior Center to get baseline forms, pedometers (if needed) and other information. This is a 12 week project that will help us keep moving during the winter months. This year, without having to leave home, we will ‘travel’ and learn about Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Omen and the many other countries of the Middle East, that are in the news daily. Many of you have been to these areas and if you would like to share information and/or pictures of your journeys please see or call Odessa at the center. 1st hand information is always appreciated. Our first program lunch is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 26. Please put the walk on your calendars and join a great group of people to have fun and get/keep in shape. Questions? Call the center at 586-2421 for more information.

Weight and Fitness Room - Provides a variety of aerobic equipment for individual use.

The Hiking Group goes outdoors for extensive walks and hiking during the summer months on Tuesdays at 8:30 am. In the Program you will find more infromation on the trails.  The Walking Group does summer outdoor walking on Thursdays at 8:30; listed in the Program are all trail information.  These both leave from the Senior Center lobby.

The Snowshoeing and Cross Country Ski program is designed to be enjoyable for all and to let seniors take advantage of the area in which they live, while being in an environment that is safe, friendly, and scenic. In the Program you will find more details and information about each trail. The meeting place is the Bozeman Senior Center at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday mornings starting in January 2009.
