The Bozeman Senior Center contains a wonderful new exercise room complete with rubber floor and various pieces of exercise equipment.  A variety of exercise classes are scheduled every weekday to match the endurance and fitness levels of the membership.  Highly qualified leader/instructors plan and conduct these sessions.

Be sure to check out our NEW exercise classes at the Bozeman Senior Center! New to the center are the following classes: Strong Women/Men (5 days a week. Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 8:45am and Tuesday-Thursday at 1:00pm), and Stretching (Tuesday-Thursday at 2:00pm).

Aerobics Plus - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.  Designed for seniors, these classes provide opportunity to achieve appropriate levels of strenuous activity to strengthen and maintain cardiovascular systems.  Strength training and mind and balance exercises are also included. Aerobic activity is at a faster pace than seated.

Combo Aerobics - Tuesday at 9:00 am. The same as Aerobics Plus above but slower paced.

Tai Chi - Tuesday and Thursday at 10:15 am.  A slow paced class based on yang long form.  It combines and improves balance, strength, breath, and mind and body.

Gentle Aerobics - Monday at 9:00 am.  The Gentle Aerobics class is designed for individuals who cannot become involved in heavily aerobic exercise either because of cardiovascular problems or who need to develop their endurance before undertaking strenuous aerobic exercises.  Strength training and mind and balance exercises which may be done seated or standing are also included.

Silver Sneakers - Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am. Muscular strength and rang of movement.  Sponsered by the Humana Insurance Company.  You do not have to have Humana insurance to participate.

2012 Pedometer Walking Program: Touring Southern South America.  During the winter months, it is often hard to get out and keep moving. The pedometer walking program will travel, vicariously (of course) over southern South America and make many stops to learn about the area along the path.  This is an opportunity to help get those steps in that are so important each day. You do not have to be an avid walker to participate. Packets/Pedometers are available at the Senior Center front desk.

Weight and Fitness Room - The Weight and Fitness Room has tredmills, stationary bicycles, and an eliptical for your cardio workouts. In addition, we have free weights and weight machines to help increase your muscle strength and endurance.

The Hiking Group goes outdoors for gentle hikes around the Bozeman area on Tuesday's. The Walking Group walks around the Bozeman area on Wednesday's or Thursday's. Both groups meet at the Bozeman Senior Center at 8:30am. A complete itinerary of both programs can be found at the front desk. Pick up a copy beginning May 2012.

The Snowshoeing and Cross Country Ski program is designed to be enjoyable for all and to let seniors take advantage of the area in which they live, while being in an environment that is safe, friendly, and scenic. The meeting place is the Bozeman Senior Center at 9:00am Tuesday mornings now through March 2012. Call 586-2421 and speak to Emily with any questions. Hope to see you there!

Fees for Exercise program activities are listed on the Fee Schedule or may be obtained by contacting the Senior Center.
